Today, I spent my day at Litchfield Intermediate School with 4 classes of 5th grade students. We had a wonderful day talking about Diversity, Immigration, and what it means to be an American.
Ask your student(s):
We also discussed some of the different reasons that immigrants came to the United States of America. Students realized that most people who have come to America wanted a better life for themselves and their family no matter what time period they lived in.
I was truly impressed by the knowledge of the rights and responsibilities that we have as American citizens and I truly look forward to getting to know the LIS students better throughout the year during this program!
