Joe Young, Jr., President/Founder of Young! Studios, has over 20 years experience in the business of art. In the late 80s, he was nationally syndicated with his Scruples comic strip about orphans dealing with social issues. Since then he started the Joe, Picture This Show, Inc. a youth arts agency which is well known for creating The Hartford Animation & Film Institute, a program that teaches young people the art and business of digital animation. He has produced graphic and film work for celebrities, small and large organizations.
Young’s book Diamond Ruff published in 2009 was later followed by a movie with the same title. The message of Diamond Ruff is that “anyone can overcome obstacles and mistakes, if you tap into the power of the human spirit.”
Joe and his work have appeared in magazines such as People, Ebony, and Jet, as well as The New York Times, Boston Globe, C-Span, and other national media outlets. In 1999, Joe received the prestigious “Point of Light” award from the House for bringing the arts to disadvantage youth.
