We had a busy start to POH this year! I cannot believe it's coming upon the new year... just a few more months until the CTSFF Documentary is due for judging!
Remember: this year you will have the task of creating a 4-minute documentary AND a 60-second trailer! All work is due on April 15th for judging!
It was wonderful to come to your schools and meet the POH groups at Explorations Charter School, Naugatuck High, Nonnewaug High, Terryville High, Wolcott High, and Woodland Regional to discuss your goals for the upcoming year!
POH students spent a day at Wesleyan University in October for the Digital Media Summit learning about the basics of documentary film-making and met with a group of a diverse veterans who spent the day sharing their unique stories with our students.
We met at the Oakville VFW to celebrate and honor the veterans with a special ceremony in November. After our ceremony, students met with the veterans at the VFW for lunch and had the opportunity to listen to their amazing stories. Wow. It was truly a beautiful and memorable experience.
You should all be meeting and working at your schools. Students should meet to work with the editing software, choose your veteran(s) and come up with your story lines. Some of our groups have already had an initial interview & taping day with your veterans! I'm glad to hear many of you are getting a jump on your work!
We will see you again on February 4th. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns before then.
Have an amazing holiday season!
