Immigration Nation is an academic enrichment program focusing on the significant contributions of immigration groups to American culture. Using the “doing history” methodology, students will study immigration by exploring and investigating history through literature, writing, and the arts. Students will use oral histories as a tool for learning about people, places and events. Students will learn first-hand that diversity in America comes from immigration!
Next week, I will be doing classroom visits to our participating students! I'm looking forward to meeting the students from Bethel, Colebrook, Danbury, Litchfield, and North Canaan!
Please check back here throughout the year to see what your child/ren is/are doing in Immigration Nation!
